Care and Share Family Newsletter

Are we there yet?

 Dear all,

Are we there yet? How far do we still have to go? These are familiar questions from children when they are traveling. They are appropriate questions for our movement too. We have been on the road’ for five years. We knew where we are heading. Our dream was and is for an effective Church. We understood that the church should witness to the practical gospel effectively only if it is united, caring and sharing with the needy. We believed that unity could be achieved by returning to the New Testament intentions for the church James 1:26-27.

So where does that leave us? Today the Christian- Churches of Christ- disciples of Christ family of Churches around the world is bound by a common heritage, the Lordship of Christ and the desire to be the church that Christ established and envisaged.

Many of you will know that we are Care and Share Foundation the child brain of the Church of Christ in Busoga- Lwanda village, Uganda, East Africa. Our church tends to see our movement as whole in many places. Brothers and sisters have become, at best, cousins.

The widow in the above photograph  need your support, and many more others do luck basic necessities.

We asked our selves whether there were still characteristics that where common to us all. We found ten significant universal characteristics:

·        A concern for Christian unity

·        A commitment to mission and evangelism

·        An emphasis on being a church that is true to the New Testament

·         The use of simple confession faith

·        The practice of believer’s baptism

·        The weekly celebration of communion

·        A desire to be known by biblical names

·        An emphasis on congregation autonomy

·        An understanding that every member is involved in ministry

·        An acceptance of the need for diversity Our faith statement click

It is important to recognize that this is a list of characteristics and not statement of beliefs.

Because we are here today and it is clear we will be here tomorrow, we need to take a look at where we are and where we are going. This is an important moment for all of us to discern current trends and examine the challenges that lie ahead.

Our primary purpose is addressing the spiritual needs of our members. We believe that addressing the spiritual needs is the foundation to addressing any other need that soul may need. We are trying as much as possible to be a community with service delivery. And our primary purpose is a warrant and justification for the Lords majesty, and not a mirror image of Care and Share Foundation.

Life is certainly rocking out here in Busoga region at the moment, Care and Share Foundation is holding her own with dreams to establish a community library and a Christian Primary School in the village. Indeed having a library in the village it will be the first of its kind in the villages in Uganda. Uganda basically it is a rural society since the majority of the population resides in the rural area and is the less privileged. We covet and seek God's presence and provision in all that we do.

It is down to people like you giving us time and donations. Every penny counts and every penny goes straight back into the core of the charity. Rural community deserves a chance and it’s down to you that we have been able to dream this much so far. And our dream is to be a community with service delivery to the hurting and less privileged rural community.

So without much ado, let us update you on what’s been happening in our Pre School and Care and Share Foundation in the country known as the pearl of Africa.

Rock Nursery and Primary School

This is the first orphans and vulnerable children School of its kind in the village called Lwanda in Jinja district. Basoma Nelson and many other teachers are keeping 120 children dancing on their toes! With new term starting we have had a new group of children between the ages 4 & 5 registering- for their first day.

Rock Nursery and Primary School, it is probably desperate school and the wonder of the rural world. It looks like a cowshed, made of just mud and bush poles. We are excited to see it being too much loved by the community, guardians bring in their children willingly and some who attend regularly are orphans and vulnerable children. We eagerly await the Grace of the Lord upon teachers, children and guardians. The handshakes are open.

Elderly, orphans, widows and poor needy care and share ministry

We have got an exciting year ahead of us, not only helping orphans and vulnerable children's school, but there are various events taking place too. Elderly people, widows, Orphans and poor needy are privileged to have us praying for them and creating hope in them.

This is not a child play, all the above people are having conflicting demands in their differing status but we visit their homes and we identify the needs of each household registered with us. ‘We believe that the heart grieves for what the eye has seen… and where Lord leads he provides…’ So there you have it, we covet and seek God's presence and provision in the above projects. Worldwide we love you and you all rock. Peace and grace to you as you also seek to show your concern and love for the people in great need.

Hope to hear from you, to contact us click here.
