Care
and Share community Elderly livelihood support project. It is one of
a series of projects that Care and Share “A community based
organization (CBO) Registered to support and care for older people in Busoga region and
Uganda as a whole.
The
project was set up to support older people and families members
especially orphans in respond to solution of many problems and
difficulties situations facing older people in Busoga region and
Uganda at large which include, High levels of poverty, poor Housing
conditions, poor food and nutrition conditions, Health problems and
educational problems.
Cause
of the problems: All these problems accumulated great pain and
difficulties and lives of older people in Uganda due to lack of
Government policy on older persons, Existence of HIV/AIDS and its
impact, existence of weak, unsupported older people organizations in
the Country which lack strong voice, are un coordinated, and poorly
funded.
Therefore
livelihood support project implemented by Care and Share
Foundation with partnership Uganda, well-wishers is sought to address
the problems of High Level of poverty by provision of loans to
elderly to start up their small business to generate income and to
improve on the Housing conditions of older people.
